I remember Jordan in the '91 Finals. I watched them as a teen.

He played 44 minutes a game, and put up 31 while shooting 55%, 11 assists, 6 boards, and nearly 3 steals per.
You're quoting that as if those stats are amazing. That was against the Geriatric Lakers. It would be like Lebron playing against the Mavericks in the finals this year. Way past their prime.

Your whole analysis of that era is wrong, The top east teams where just as strong as the wests.....Jordan made the playoffs as a rookie(Bulls weren''t a playoff team), lost to the eventual champions 3 times(Bos 86)(DET 89)(DET 90), lost to the finalists 3 times(BOS 87)(DET 88)(ORL 95), won 6 years...so he basically only went down against the best or won every year he played but his rookie year....so that's pretty much like Lebron except winning the chip double the times.

Lebron wasn't always as heavy, but compared to his peers he was a freight train even young so he developed that freight train game...it's like a puncher who don't work on his skills because he getting those early KO's. You say Jordan wasn't a good dribbler, well that's why he didn't overdribble(plus, system, triangle) he maximised his own game. You seem to judge the players by "well if you put 4 scrubs around him, this one's game is more valuable"...but why? NBA isnt full of scrubs, thats why Lebrons game overlaps with everyone unlesss they're spot up shooters, and since he won't deferr on playmaking except when he needs to catch his breath, sometimes he doesnt have gas to press when they actually absolutely need him and other times he folds like a lawn chair...

MJ is just miles ahead. Would son him and his teams just by getting on his head
So you're willing to consede that argument for Jordan about the teams that he lost against, but you are unwilling to make that argument for Lebron.

And you want to talk about "folding like a lawn chair". In 1993 esat finals, Bulls were down 0-2 in the series to the Knicks. In game 3, you'd think Jordan would have a monster game. He shot 3-18. He choked. They still won, but he choked. Luckily he was playing with the best 2-way player in the league Pippen and the best post-up and defensive PF Grant to bail him out.

If Jordan was playing right now with all that exposure and micro-analysis of today, you'd be saying even worse things about him.

i made the argument for michael and lebron, difference is michael simply won double the times than Lebron did by recognising his own game...if we're gonna come up with bailed out and choking, let's say lebron would be 1-7 without spurs choke+ray allen and Warriors biggest choke of all time, hell even the series they beat baby OKC, Harden choked OKC out of the series...did his best Lebron 11 finals impression. No bigger choke job than that.

You want to throw up LeBron's stats against the Mavs in 2011?

We are in a thread about the best players in the league, and you're over here *****ing about how one of them shouldn't be playing over 25 minutes per game in the playoffs?

Jordan at 34 was playing over 40 minutes per game.

Bu-bu-but LeBron weighs 500 pounds doe!

        He's never catching Jordan.

        Sorry, my man.

He's simply the best 3 quarter basketball player ever. Unfortunately NBA games are 4 quarters long.

LOL OKC were loaded to the gills. Even if Harden "choked", they still should've won with that level of talent. 3 of those guys would go on to be nominated for MVP. Durant, Westbrook, Harden. That and defeating the greatest team of all-time the 73-win Warriors, solidifies Lebron's GOAT status.

Lebron wasn't that bad against the Mavs. The reason they lost is because Lebron let Wade lead the team. He didn't really have that much problems scoring he just chose not to take a lot of shots for the sake of the team. The very next year it was very clear Lebron's mentality changed. He knew that he had to be the leader in order for them to win and that's exactly what happened.

Lebron could've played 60mins in the 90's. Jordan never had any SGs to guard. He would basically just play zone and the main help guy thats how he got all those steals. Lebron has to guard elite talent ever night. He can't just sag off his guy and only have to play 1 side of the court like Jordan did.

There SG class in the 90's was so weak that the guys who gave Jordan the hardest time on defense were PGs. Lol Gary Payton made Jordan look like a scrub in the 96 finals.
