Yes, you are right. Every extra second the ref delays the fight is recovery time for Fury. The famous Dempsey Tunney long count was no where near as long as this long count. That dumb ref saved Fury from a KO loss.

Ref picked up the count at 4, Fury starts getting up at 6 and is up before the count.
He doesn't use the ref to get up, he put his hands on the ref to show he was ok to go. He did it on the first knock down. He shouldn't touch the ref but it wasn't any aid to him.
I've seen Reiss send the fighter for a walk before. He did it twice in this fight and he did it in the Charlo/Trout fight I'm sure.
He also often gets them to raise their hands above the head and walk towards them (Campbell, Arreloa).
