    Yes and no. Designated sparring partners, even if they don't technically fight bouts, still go through hell. Take my case for instance... I sparred cats from 147 to 220... And I don't know what civilized gyms you are talking about, but all those mofos wanted to take my head off! I fought a couple am fights but my coaches moved me along slow. I wasn't up on my supplements then and working with several injuries. Then moved to H Slice where boxing isn't so big as it was in the seven cities, so I couldn't find a dedicated program for it. Closest is In Bham.

    Life story over I'm just using my case in point to show. My Am fights were a breeze compared to some of the sparring sessions I've had..
