Linares was the lineal champ who was trying hard to get Mikey in the ring with him while Mikey had it in his head that Lipinets was more important. Then when Linares signed to fight Loma, Mikey was all "well if you fight Loma I will never fight you".

Sorry but Mikey's reluctance to fight the main guy in the division, while he was seeking out lesser opponents did not make him the top dog.
