Jab to the body, then to the head to set up the hook

your lead hook counter over his jab would be amazing if you can time it, or most famous southpaw vs orthodox - straight left counter when he throws a jab. Left hook to the liver under straight right is very effective also.

          Jab- Parry n cross
          Straight- Slip left and cross
Left hook to the head horizontal- duck and cross to the body liver
Right hook- beat him to the punch with a cross or duck roll under cross
Left uppercut- step back upright with a front block then cross
Right uppercut- step back up right with a front block then cross
Jab to body- block with elbow and forward momentum and then cross
Straight to body-pivot right while throwing a right hook
Left hook to body- step back in the direction of his force with a block block n pivot then cross
Right hook to body- step back throw a counter cross
Left uppercut to body- step back in the direction of his force with a block block n pivot then cross
Right uppercut to body- step back with a block and left then cross

There's no set way but there are many possible ways to do things , and many possible angles heights ranges momentum's scenarios etc go experiment and find what works well for you , use bread n butter counters that the pros use, and most importantly get safe non damaging experience, lots of it, this is mostly a right brained activity.

For example if his punch hasnt got up to speed yet its good to go forward to jam it up before it builds power or if its almost at full extension and connecting with you its good to move in the direction of the punch totake the sting off it, theres so many variables to what could be happening that its a pointless task trying to learn in a left brained way online, you need to get in the ring with a good coach if u want to be good -end of

spar, spar, spar......only sparring can teach you what you can or cannot do. just because someone can counter a shot with something, doesnt mean you can too....everyone is different and you can only learn your game through sparring
