  • Comments Thread For: Diego De La Hoya Dominates Erik Ruiz; Wins Unanimous Decision

Diego De La Hoya was dominant Thursday night in what amounted to a showcase fight. The 22-year-old cousin of Oscar De La Hoya thoroughly out-boxed Erik Ruiz in their 10-round super bantamweight bout at Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Arizona. De La Hoya, of Mexicali, Mexico, was better than Ruiz in every aspect and the developing prospect produced a shutout on all three scorecards to win by unanimous decision (100-90, 100-90, 99-91).

Good feet, but not enough head movement. When he stopped "dancing", Diego ate some big right hands.

And yet another amateur night with weasel looking pee wee hoya against a staged guaranteed win. Sht has gotten old fast. Even the judges were paid to give practically every round to the overprotected fighters. The circus act doesnt get worse than that. Pathetic.

Why do we have 2 threads for This Fight? Its easier when this is Streamlined into 1.

Good wins for both De La Hoya and Ballard. For Diego he continues to show progress by fight. His speed, combinations are crisp. Joel Diaz needs to continue to work on his defensive lapses. Still he's heading the right direction. I wonder if a Randy Calberrero would be next for Diego?

Ballard showed his toughness because he was fading as the fight progressed. This was a perfect example of why fighters don't like taking fights on such short notice. This was the 3rd different opponent for Ballard and he didn't look ready for Luna. He's got to work off his jab and he needs to work on his conditioning more.

Good action fights by Golden Boy Promotions.

Lame response. . Obviously you are a fangirl who drools when prospects fight staged setups.
