This is truly when people turned on the Philippino. He could have made up for Marquez knocking him out cold. Turns out even Maidana did better against Floyd.

Saw it last week. These publishers even did a good job justifying Ward's win. Boxing Legends is a very channel. Would love to know the poster here...

Floyd won the fight. But poor performances from both sides. Floyd did great defensively as he always does, but offensively? it was a subpar performance. He landed only 20 plus percent of his jabs, I understand he was just using them to keep Manny at bay, but around round 7-12 he already got Manny under control since he was disrupting Manny's rhythm since the bell, but he made no move to totally dominate him, stepped on the gas, go for the KO or at the very least throw more punches since he was already landing at will at that point.
Until round 12, he was still disrupting Manny's rhythm. He was too concerned doing that, that he made little damage only when we know he could've done more. Yes, it got the job done, and I'm happy for him, but he could've done more and silenced all critics.

Yes Floyd won, but let's not forget that he only fought pacquiao when he saw he could no longer KO the algieris of the world. To do pacquiao's style effectively you have to be at your physical peak. That was already a scared pacquiao, and past his best.

And nope. not buying the injury excuse otherwise he would've mentioned it at the ring interview.

It was a master's class in boxing skill.

Every facet of boxing was put on display by Mayweather in that fight.

History will be kinder to this than the present.

Because, although it wasn't their prime, both men had plenty left.

Hell, Manny might still be the best welter out there right now...

While what you say is true, I still maintain that it's mighty funny how less aggro and effective Manny is without Alex Ariza.

Floyd basically neutralized manny in that fight and it was underwhelming. Manny didnt even put up a fight after all that hype for years. After he couldnt hit floyd he basically quit.

Alex Ariza was at floyd's corner for that fight so what's your point??
Pacquiao was simply past his best. Margarito took a lot in him physically, Bradley fight gave him doubts and the marquez KO took his confidence and aura of invincibility.

They say "Oh pacquiao was renewed. He now thinks, cautious and technical" nah, that was a hesitant pacquiao who no longer have the stamina to throw 600 punches and ain't confident with his chin.

                  Manny the man

Floyd is just scaredy pants, always was about not getting hit. What he never did realize is people paid just to watch someone one day shut him up and put him on his ass. For being an excuse of a wife beater.
Floyd never was entertaining. And that's what boxing is supposed to do. Entertain. Not getting hit he understood. Hitting, eh, not so much. So he's retired 50 and Oh. Oh stands for zero entertainment. And to think he has the half brain to compare himself favorably to Muhammad Ali is just ludicrous. Ali will always be the Greatest.
When Floyd finally dared to face Manny, the Manilan had an injury, end of story. He never was scared of anybody, boxed anybody anywhere. Just look at his record. While Floyd made sure he only faced hopeless prospects, Manny faced whoever wanted to get in the ring with him. History will put this in its boring perspective. One guy won't vs one guy can't fight.

Yeah, after TBE stole him from Manny. Notice how the fight got signed quite quickly after that. Almost as if Floyd knew that Ariza Shakes were the key to Manny's success.
