Twitter on Sunday temporarily suspended the account of new Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene after she posted a tweet questioning the results of the state’s runoff election for Senate.

Twitter announced the 12-hour suspension, saying it determined Green’s post “violated the Twitter rules, so we’ve temporarily suspended some of your account features.”

The social media giant tagged one of Greene’s tweets about the Jan. 5 election.

“The 1/5 disaster in Georgia lays solely in the hands of state leadership who failed voters in our state. GasecofState and@GabrielSterling were begged by Republicans to fix our elections. They did nothing. They are to blame, not me, not realDonaldTrump, not CollinsforGA,” she wrote on Twitter, referencing election officials in the Peach State.

Twitter went on to include a number of news reports showing that there is no evidence of “widespread fraud” in the Nov. 3 presidential election.

It included clips of former Attorney General Bill Barr and comments from the Department of Homeland Security vouching for the results.

Democrats Jon Ossoff and the Rev. Raphael Warnock defeated Republican incumbents David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler in the runoff election, giving Democrats control of the Senate.

Greene — who has expressed support for the far-right conspiracy theory QAnon — has been boosting President Trump’s claims that the Nov. 3 election was stolen and has said she will file articles of impeachment against President-elect Joe Biden.

In a statement, according to the Washington Examiner, she blamed “Big Tech.”

“Americans rights are being stripped and they aren’t being heard by the people they elected to represent them. And with Big Tech silencing them, they literally can’t be heard. The censorship has got to stop,” she said.

Trump has been permanently banned by Twitter for his posts after the Capitol riots on Jan. 6.

Why is Twitter regarded as the pulse and voice of the world? I have a twitter account that I set up as a requirement for an open source research class way back when, but I have probably checked it twice in 10 years.
