We have been recording temps for just over a hundred years. All this is nonsense. The Earth has flux in temps over thousands of years.

The Chinese government could generally care less about the well being of its own people, much less the environment. Sad to say, but even if the US started implementing environmental reform, many developing countries, who have been traditionally economically screwed by the first world, couldn't care less how much damage they're doing as they finally get ahead.

Maybe. But a lot of coastal areas may soon be covered by water though, according to Al Gore.

Can you imagine Manhatten under water?

They could or couldn't care less?

So the developing countries care a lot then? I was under the impression they didn't care much at all, but thanks for clarifying.

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with Shell drilling in the Arctic. Seems like quite the coincidence.

Yeah he said that right before he took the millions he made with his fear mongering movie and bought an 8 million dollar house on the beach.

Anyhow from the NASA press release: “Ice cores from Summit show that melting events of this type occur about once every 150 years on average. With the last one happening in 1889, this event is right on time,” says Lora Koenig, a Goddard glaciologist and a member of the research team analyzing the satellite data.

                    "Unprecedented" my a$$.

All of this hype over less than a degree change in world temperature over the last century, which may or may not be man caused.

I agree that there's been too much focus on so-called "global warming".

What about the loss of biodiversity? What about the hole in the ozone layer?

What about the "island" of garbage the size of Texas in the Pacific? (ocean currents have carried much the garbage dropped into the ocean to one area of the Pacific)

Watch the documentary The 11th Hour narrated by Leonardo DiCaprio.
