Thing is though it isnt 'hate', at least not from me. I may have carried some argumentative spirit from the Rugby thread but still my posts were mostly in response to people getting agitated with my posts.

As i said before it can get tiring hearing about 'the greatness of America'. You're an accident of history, same as everyone else. Simply attributing all success to a capitalist system (which many countries have) and hard working people (which everyone has) is misleading and frankly wrong.

I never said it was all luck. But a lot of the contributing factors to your success dont have much to do with capitalism or hard work. You and your nation doesnt work any harder than other nations, but due to other factors (some of which i pointed out earlier) your work has meant you became the global superpower for the best part of a century. Im not saying you are lazy or that you are worse than other nations, just that you are the same, hence the 'not special' comments.

Well I disagree. I think Americans early on DID work harder because that was the system that was set up. When this country was young, there was a battle for land, money, business, resources etc...

It was survival of the fittest and there wasn't a king of queen to answer to. That's why if you look at the way the Constitution was laid out, it was based on individual rights and making your own way so to speak.

It's the same reason we are less taxed than most countries around the world. We have a right to bear arms, most Americans see socialism or big govt as a bad thing.

After WWII, the economy really took off, competition ignited and people were carving their way to become wealthy and powerful in this country. It's why you hear "You can do anything you put your mind to" or "The American Dream".

It's more than just luck, resources, or happenstance. In 200+ years, America has exploded onto the world scene in almost every category. It might flame out just as quick too.
