What risk is Canelo taking if the fight isnt at the 175lb limit? Also if there is a rehydration clause?

If there are so many "risks" then someone would say just dont do it then.

Canelo has a chin and Kovalev probably doesnt hit much harder than GGG. So its favorable for him from the get go.

    But again.

Consider it goes 12 all Canelo has to do is keep it close enough and he will win on the cards? If Mikey could ****ing do it then money that Canelo can surivive 12.

What risk are we talking about here? Theres less risk than Mikey moving to 147 considering that Canelo is better than Mikey and Spence is better than Kovalev?

Plus. Why these guys always trying to cherry pick champs near the end of their career for real.

DAZN gives it to GBP who gives it to Canelo & his opponent I'd imagine.

And I gotta figure DAZN is paying GBP for Canelo fights by how appealing said fight is or how much they want or don't want a fight.

Thats likely why this is a lowball offer. Cuz they are gonna need to lowball Kovalev or Canelo is gonna need to take a cut. Or they are gonna have to fight someone DAZN wants them to fight.

DAZN has leverage here & it'd be stupid of them not to use it. They need to convert notable fights into subs & Canelo vs GGG III is one of the biggest fights to make in all of boxing right now & is gonna help DAZN acquire subs more than Canelo vs Kovalev will.

DAZN will give x for Kov, but will give x + y for a guy like Jacobs or GGG who they wanna see Canelo fight & who they think has greater appeal for DAZN the product to reach more subs.
Hmmm. I didn't think of it that way

You'll have to pay more to get Kovalev to leave his network

Jacobs got paid about how much he'd get paid with PPV upside. So what happens the next time they want a non-DAZN guy to fight Canelo? They gotta pay them the equivalent of what he'd make on a PPV.

Liam Smith probably made more with the PPV upside than what Kovalev was offered. That is a problem without PPV upside.

              Yup he was

People pretending Canelo Vs anyone but GGG would be bigger than Canelo Vs Kov are being dumb

Who else is offering Kovalev that type of money? Not his own people, Not Arum or Haymon. Lowball? Im seeing the same morons calling this a lowball that called 100 million a lowball and 7 for Luis Ortiz a lowball. But this is actually a DAZN hate thread, yet another one from our number 1 DAZN hater.

Once upon a time a fighter or his team or his fans would say "That is a lowball because we could get more than that fighting............ But now its just a lowball even though there is nothing to say about it other than pointing out what other fighters have got. That was other fighters not Kovalev.

So its the most he has ever had, its more than anybody else out there is going to give him for any other fight but its a lowball.

Liam Smith didn't get PPV upside I've never seen anyone report that he did. So he got a flat fee to come in and fight canelo. Just like most of the guys Floyd fought on his huge deal with Showtime. They got large flat fees usually worth 2-3X the money anyone else could pay them while Floyd was the only one getting PPV upside. Kovalev is being offered money he can't make anywhere else and his career payday was 2M and that was a PPV fight with Ward when his popularity and stock was at it's peak.

It's simple if Kovalev don't like money he can go fight his mandatory for peanuts which he could very easily lose then unify with one of the guys at 175 and those 2 fights combined probably don't pay him HALF what Canelo just offered him.

Kovalev should be making at least 5x's against Canelo than what he made against Ward. This fight is way more valuable
