  • Socialism is becoming popular because capitalism has abandoned the poor

I hate socialism (and communism as well.)

But this misguided political ideology is experiencing a rise, as seen with the likes of Bernie Sanders and AOC.

The reason why, in my opinion, is because they address the concerns that many poor and working class people feel. People who have basically been left on the outside looking in by crony capitalism and "trickle down economics."

It's a shame. This country's government was founded to be of the people, by the people, for the people.

The welfare of all "the people" should always come first. The fact that the only ones giving lip service to "the people" these days are socialists is a big warning sign that the nation has lost it's way.

crony capitalism is of course not capitalism/the free market. and i'd argue that globalist policies have hurt the poor and the middle class the most in this country. but regardless i agree with your assessment that socialist scumbags are equally taking advantage of the current situation.

The socialists the giving just that and that alone, “lip service”. All flash and no substance while preaching to the choir. Promising goods and services that cannot possibly be sustained without taxing the middle class into poverty.

that's right. only 2 classes in a socialist state: poor and political class. the middle class will fund everything and disappear into the poor class. then once the money dries up, the whole thing collapses. the political class ****s off with all the wealth they were accumulating if they manage to survive the purges that will be carried out by their own. but it wasn't real socialism anyway doe we will make it work this time, says bernie and horse guevara.

Good post, except for one thing.

Theres no such term as "trickle down" in the field of Economics. It's a made up term coined by politicians to smear their political opponents.

Interestingly enough, the political party that uses the term is the same party on record admitting they rely on "stupid voters".

I don't like Bernie; I think he's a closet racist that believes he can win by catering only to the White middle-class. I'm still analyzing AOC. The essence of your post is headed in the right direction, despite not sharing your views on socialist/communist ideology.

Years of my life have wasted away due to the cutthroat nature of capitalism. I've learned to cope with it all, but that stuff still keeps me up at night. Something has to change, or humanity will destroy itself. It makes no sense that we have to trade numbers (paper) in order to get people to do something helpful for another person. It also makes no sense that we have slaves all over the world doing everything for us; that we steal their resources.

There's enough to go around, but we're so greedy. I can't solve the mystery of how people will be convinced to work in a world without money, but this sick version of the world we have now is way worse.

Extremes on both sides of the Capitalist Socialist debate is bad for the health of a country. If you want a somewhat socialist system to work and endure you have to have a vibrant economy or the system will fail.

imo its only growing because these what they call it.... generation z?????? they feel hella entitled.....

even kids living with their parents till there like 25 yrs on average..... thats crazy....

and think about it... everyone "struggling" with school payments, rent, etc....

why wouldnt you ,as a young up and comer, why wouldnt you want

                FREE school
                FREE healthcare
FREE money (taxing the rich giving it to the less fortune by programs section 8, housing, food stamps etc)
                and the promise of "jobs".....

one thing is if you keep taxing the rich they are gonna up and leave and then NO ONE will eventually have a job because those rich people aint gonna open stores etc just to pay 70+% of their income in taxes.

everyone always ***** about how "we need to tax the rich they have enough money" etc.......

but then you ask them who creates jobs.... they have absolutely no idea....

they tend to forget those "rich" guys that you hate so much are the ones who open up the factories, etc and CREATE the jobs........

                healthcare.....paid for by government
                high taxes.....paid for by government
                free school.....paid for by government
free housing (sec 8, HUD, nycha)..... paid for by government

and who's gonna pay for all that exactly?

oh wait thats right... just tax the "rich"........

Economists are theorists making every term essentially "made up." I understand what u mean though, trickle down isn't a proper classroom phrase, if my memory serves me correct the proper phrase is Supply Side Economics.

Now just to rant, the problem with supply side economics is despite the tax cuts & free(er) market, business owners/Corporations are under no obligation to give their employees more $ or hire more people.

A strong government is how u control Capitalism. The government is essentially supposed to look out for the lil man but somewhere between Eisenhower and Clinton, things got all F'ed up. Now your average CEO in the US out makes his bottom level employees 400 dollars to 1!

Our governments role should be protecting citizens safety first then their basic need. Trying to curb capitalism with more social programs is likely the reason the young US citizens feel entitled to champagne when they couldnt even buy a Thunderbird.
