  • Mayweather didn't fight seriously until the middle rounds, let's be honest.

Come on guys. I was watching the fight with people that were not even casuals (watching the fight was not in the plans, but we were having dinner at a friends house and it turned out that she had premium cable and we could watch the fight for free) and even some of them could see that Mayweather was not even trying for three or four rounds... letting McGregor hit him, turning on only for 10 seconds and then turning off again, missing punches on purpose, etc. No one ended up excited about the fight. They were all disappointed. But they are barely casuals, they didn't know what to expect.

He needed to let himself be hit to save face and give some show.

He needed to do let himself be hit to save face and give some show.
Definitely carried Mcnugget early to make it interesting.

I mean Floyd literally said "I'm going to go right at him, fight toe to toe, make it entertaining and give the fans what they want to see"

After the fight Floyd said "I could've easily just out boxed him"

You could say maybe Floyd's bull****ting, but the fact is he just walked straight forward for no other reason than what he described as "to make it entertaining"

All of that was 100% intentional to simply walk forward into Mcgregor to make it interesting for the fans.

Is there any other reason why Mayweather would literally not move his feet at all, and fight in a way that was described by commentators as "completely bizarre and not like Mayweather at all."

Mcgregor had no power and Floyd didn't bother to actually box him at all.

Mayweather didn't move his feet at all, walked forward in a straight line the entire fight, and beat up Mcgregor until he quit.

I tend to not believe something like this, but really, the way Mayweather turned it in when he wanted is there anyone who really thinks it took Mayweather 3 rounds to figure McGregor out? He knew what was up inside 30 seconds and he just coasted for a while to A) let Conor tire and B) give the fans a show.

McGregor couldn't hurt Mayweather, that was obvious from the start.

Boxing heads know this, casuals will claim a complete 180...”Conor killed Floyd than gassed”... completely ignorant to the fact Floyd said he will walk straight forward, give the fans a show, then stop mcgregor. Casuals will claim Mayweather was overwhelmed until Conor gassed and that ref stopped it early. Last night was a boxing master class on how you fight a bigger, stronger opponent. Epic performance by Floyd. Litterally ate Conor’s best shots and smiled.

It's not about if he's good or bad at it, it's the fact that he intentionally chose to fight that way just to make it entertaining.

People and especially casuals were entertained by the fight. If Floyd would've boxed and schooled Mcgregor without getting touched casuals would've hated it and said "HE RAN, HE JUST RAN!!! IT WAS BORING!!"

The fact of the matter is Mcgregor was gonna gas whether Floyd boxed him on the outside and didn't get touched for 9 rounds, or if Floyd walked forward without moving his feet at all for 9 rounds.

The difference is by intentionally walking forward thereby making Mcgregor look better he entertained the casual fans.

You know, just like he literally said he was going to before the fight.

The fact that he knew what round to place a bet on tells you everything you need to know.

biggest BS statement in a while..the reason why he chose to fight like that was becuase he was eating jabs from the outside and he's fighting a first time boxer
