Isnt money obsolete already? Im not sure where you come from...but where i live you cant legally work without a bank account as all wages are done by eft. Most people here just eftpos everything and the only use for cash is for playing poker machines. Even now a lot of those are switching to credit/debit card use so soon you wont need a dollar bill at all. There is no doubt that the chip on your bank cards is an early version of having one put under your skin. Any time you use one you can be tracked...and as shown in the movie changing lanes...you can be turned off at any time big brother likes. Lets just hope it doesnt become a version of that other great movie...In Time.

The last time money was obsolete, was the very beginning stages of civilization along with early intensive agriculture. Money is the blood that keeps the world that exists running, and without it, nothing would function. It is more than just deeply ingrained, it is a vital organ for everything there is now.

For money to be obsolete there would have to be a catastrophic apocalypse that would destroy the entire world system. Only going back to a hunter gatherer stage would eliminate money. Self sufficiency would have to be achieved along with trade and bartering to add to it.

It would take a generation that has already been entirely detached from the modern world to succeed well in that life. Pretty much nobody alive in the world right now would be involved in that. If money loses it's value in your lifetime, you are going to be trying to survive to live every single day. You would never be relaxed again and many will die.
