I am just wondering somebody throwing short left hooks to the body, like 10-12 inches hooks the way Gennady throws. How would that work?

Is there a fighter that throws solid punches whle on his back?

Solid punches come from the legs, you can't use them when you're on your back. The best strikes to throw from the back is a slicing elbow, but some fighters can throw good punches even on their back, like Anderson Silva. Look at the punch he rocked Sonnen with seconds before he put him in a triangle.

Pretty simple. Gennady is standing up, a guy on his back isn't, so they will never be able to do anything remotely similar. You can get full body leverage with your torso and legs standing up, even with short punches. Actually, that's what makes short punches good, because you use your body for 'torque' not your arms. Impossible off your back.
