green day was a huge commercial success, rock n roll hall of fame is like the grammy awards, it just recognizes record sales not musical ability. its bull****, the fans know who really deserves an award

been around long enough to have seen them start. they along with offspring, sublime & rancid started the bubble gum sing along punk songs of the 90s... they were the biggest ever. they sold out arenas & made in mainstream. have to be credited for it. they paved the way for all sorts of bands the last 20 years...
