I'd agree. He was Ring magazines pound-for-pound #1 before the loss to Forrest. If I remember rightly Roy Jones Jr. had also stated that he felt Mosley was the best fighter in the sport at that point.

People simply didn't gravitate or connect towards him like they did with Mayweather and Pacman, for whatever intangible reason(s.) Same reason a lot of other good/great fighters don't become big stars or household names. All there is to it.

You cant force superstardom/interest from the general public like that. It's there or it's not.... just ask HBO.

Agreed. Just look at GGG. He'll never be a ppv star. Not matter how many tomatoes he crushes, there's no special effects.

Floyd was one of a kind.

The reason why is because he took on too many risks which resulted in losses and once those losses begin to mount his stock automatically dropped. So when a fighter starts to lose his shine he starts to loses his marketability in the process also. The key for him was to kept winning and choosing his battles very carefully; Something that whoever was managing at the time failed to do so.

After the loss to Forrest, it was back to the drawing board. He had a good but not great run as the welter champ. After that his career was just pretty good.

I think people kick him to the curb after admitting he was a steroid cheat

Floyd was a boring fighter people paid to see him lose which didn't happen on paper it's like you keep feeding the Vegas slot machine to win and you never do here people kept feeding Floyd the PPV to watch him lose and they kept losing like at that slot machine

                    Obviously because of racism

remember, the white/zionists who own the sports/media empires and everything else in this world don't want brothas to succeed, it rubs them off the wrong way.

It's acceptable in other sports like basketball or the NFL, because you can always keep the thought that black people can only succeed as tools for the entertainment of the white race. Tools for slavery in the past, tools for entertainment in the present, but tools nonetheless, meant to serve a master.

It's a little different in boxing, because of the nature of the sport, this is a brutal sport about men physically dominating other men, beating the **** outta them in order to win, for every black athlete at the top of the sport of boxing, you gotta remember a myriad white athletes were bested and beaten and maybe brutalized by the black man, and it doesn't feel right, specially if they also beat the top white fighters

black men outrunning or outdribbling white men in a football / basketball field doesn't feel nearly as bad as black men beating and brutalizing members of the master race in a boxing ring. That's why black PPV stars are a no-no.

Mayweather was an exception because his personality was so disliked the boxing fans were actually paying to see him lose, he actually used the endless society/media hatred for the black athlete to his advantage. In conclussion, in order to become a PPV star, the black athlete will need (aside from being a great fighter with a winning streak) to play the role of villain, heel is the only way, face will never work. If Broner was still undefeated and beating good competition, you can bet he'd be one of boxing biggest cash cows already

                    this post is mildly sarcastic
