  • Do You Think Manny Pacquiao Ever Becomes P4P # 1 Again?

According to some P4P lists Manny is still the second best fighter in the world. But to most lists he has dropped to number 6. Considering the fact that Mayweather is retiring soon, Marquez hasn't fought in over a year and is looking to retirement, and Andre Ward hasn't done anything significant in nearly two years does Manny stand a chance to one day rise back to top of the mythical pound for pound list? Can He become the best fighter in the world again?

No I think Manny should retire soon. Hes still a top P4P but he wont be no.1 again. He would have to beat Floyd twice to get that position and its something not so easy to do. Manny is past his prime that can beat almost any fighter but the Marquez KO and even a bit before that took something out of him that we will never see again. That killer instict he keeps talking about is gone. Still one of my all time favorite.

No he will never be P4P 1 again , the top guys at WW will beat him so if he is to remain winning he got to stick to Rios Algeiri level fighters , say Ruslan Mattesye , slightly above he got Garcia , all good action fights but a very good notch below the top WWs , if Khan does not look a class above Algieri I will be surprised .

Manny is on borrowed time they have got to be very careful who he fights if they want to get him a few wins .

It's funny, Pacquiao fans constantly criticise Mayweather for his temporary retirement, when they should be down on their hands and knees thanking him.

Highly, highly doubt it. He had his shot on May 2nd and brought one of the most lackluster efforts of his career. And he's unlikely to get that shot again. Floyd of course gets some credit for Manny's effort (or lack thereof), but Manny didn't even attempt to go out on his shield. He has been knocked out brutally and beaten via UD here in recent memory, and he'll be 37 by the time he returns and coming off a major surgery to boot. He remains a very good fighter but at the same time he's still clearly a shell of what he once was, and he's not going to get any better as he continues to age.

Manny's ferocious whirlwind style of the past, that type of style goes rapidly as you age.

At this point I have a hard time even coming up with valid reasons (outside of money of course) as to why he should even continue fighting.

              Agree 100 percent.

That Marquez KO changed him, he became gun shy big time.

He never was number 1 P4P, ever, without the juice. You need skills to do that, not be juiced to the gills. When he was called up on that, he looked lower than average. And also, there was no such thing as a killer instinct, it was all 100% the PEDs. Better for #48 to just retire.

If Floyd retires in September and Manny carries on, if he were to take out a couple of top guys around the weight division, i think some would put him back up there near the top.
