Haye's is an intelligent guy. I think part of the trash-talking is promoting the fight and part of it is maintaining a positive mindset, same for a lot of fighters.

It's been a long running theme in the business that the quiet, conservative guys simply don't generate as much interest as the loud mouths or pretty boys. Regardless of what hardcore boxing fans think or like, most people buy fights hoping to see someone get their head knocked off. Why do you think Oscar (pretty boy, absolutely adored by women like no fighter I've ever seen) and Tyson (savage knockout artist) are in a league of their own in terms of popularity and financial success?

That said, Haye has absolutely no chance at appealing to the U.S. audience in time for this fight. No one here even has a clue who he is, and if they did, most casual fans would probably roll their eyes and view him as a chump.
