Floyd fought DHL to a split decesion while Manny totally dominated, shut him out and stopped him. Just imagine what Cotto and Margarito would have done to DLH. Not to take anything from Many, he fought a great fight and he's one hell of a fighter. But he has no business in the welterweight division.

Mayweather is just a big hype job, who knew who to fight and when to fight. He may have retired thinking he's an all time great, but there are many out there proving that he just all hype.
The De La Hoya that fought Floyd was much stronger and didn't possibly overtrain. And that fight was at 154. No way should Oscar have came in at 145. Its a great win for Manny. Stop trying to **** on Floyd. You don't win 5 titles in 5 different weightclasses by luck.

Regardless of what anyone says I feel Floyd was one of the best of his era and is a hall of famer. I can't put him at legend's status though.

Unlike Floyd, Cotto win or lose will fight anyone. He's not afraid to challenge himself. And that will make him greater than Floyd when it's all said and done.

No Floyd won them by carefull planning and cherrypicking his opponents.

mayweather was never great to begin with because he was afraid to fight the best.

Do you think we saw the same oscar against pacman that we saw against mayweather? DLH at the very least held a belt at that point and looked to actually throw punches.

Cottos reign is looking similar to floyds, taking all comers for two divisions, under the same company, in a couple cases, fighting guys floyd already fought. There is no difference between their careers at this point with the exception that floyd didint lose when he made his first division jump to 135 against the most credible champion of the time.

Dude did you even tried to analyze the fight? Pac was moving constantly, he was too fast for Oscar while Floyd was stationary in their fight.

Yes it was, the difference was that a great fighter like Manny chose to fight and give us fans an incredible performance. While Floyd chose to languish, potshot and bore us to death.
