I struggled with putting this post in this section or the main section. I am a canadain who grew up watching hockey and started to be a boxing fan when Joe frazier and ali were going through there famous rivalry being about 11 years old at the time. When I was about 18 there were many magazines out there such as the ring , boxing illiustrated, ko, and boxing scene. Ray leonard , duran , hearns, hagler, holmes tyson were featured in these magazines as well as rising stars like camacho, boom boom, and others where featured on network tv and cable. It seems like there are so many not as much exposure except on the net.
Our sport channels are showing things such as poker and other non sports.

Boxing popularity slipped in U.S. in mid 20th century because of better economic conditions.
Why would any man with a brain spend many hours training so he could get his head battered for relatively little pay? Only the Champ and a few top contenders make any *real
    money.
The average boxing match in say, 1950 looked much different than what you see today.
