Roy Moore was the candidate. So, it's irrelevant.

The Republicans even wanted to delay the election, because their guy was so bad he could lose to a Democrat in Alabama. Their Republican governor told them no way in hell.

Right now about 99% of the votes are counted.

Jones: 639,088
Moore: 629,749
Write-ins: 22,019.


You see those numbers there? They are called statistics. You can look at them, to derive meanings about things having to do with tallying numbers, like elections.

If the candidate was anyone besides Moore the race wouldn't have been close at all. The reason the race was close is because Moore was the candidate.

And 99% of the vote count on election night/day is not going to be the final total. You won't get the official final total for a cpl weeks.
