  • French president Macron begs employers to give bonuses to angry citizens

French President Emanuel Macron, his political career in peril and his country engulfed in increasingly violent protests, pleaded with the country's employers Monday to give their workers a bonus and also promised reduction of taxes to restore order after demonstrations have deeply shaken the nation in the past month.

In a pre-taped address broadcast, Marcon criticized "inadmissible violence" of the protests, while promising with "all means" to restore calm.

"When violence is unleashed, freedom stops," he said.

The French president promised to speed up tax relief while urging companies to give bonuses to struggling workers by the end of the year. Among his pledges made Monday were reiterating promises to raise the minimum wage and abolishing taxes on overtime pay starting Jan. 1, several months ahead of schedule. He also said that a tax hike that pensioners faced would also be scrapped.

Sounds like France's President is promising his people some tax cuts.

Lmao at Euro leaders facing protests, and then responding with Trump style fiscal policies to calm them down.

Should have listened to the man from the start, but better late than never.

Macron, Merkel, and all the other socialists are learning the hard way that you can't just buy votes with rhetoric and empty promises and then bleed the working class to death. Ironically, Macron said he wanted to start a European army to defend themselves against Trump, yet he can't even fight off a bunch of yellow-vested protesters.

the telling part about the French protests is that the vast majority of the people protesting aren't third worlders from Paris.

France has a history of strikes and riots that actually achieves something.

Macron is a nob still though.

They just funded their unsustainable welfare state by taxing the lower middle class and pumping the economy full of sub-poverty line migrant labor to replace them?

                    WHA-...?
