Dreadlocks good idea?

I've been wanting to get dreadlocks but my friends say that it is dirty. I know you can wash it and stuff. But is it really hard to maintain especially if you train 5 days a week because I have to wash it more often?
Anyone got dreads what are your experiences like?
Right now I just sport a buzzcut.

Cuz I know lennox lewis has dreads so it must be possible.

They look alright on some people, but my general opinion is they look nasty. Just unkept hair

dreadlocks being dirty is a myth.
it depends on how well you keep them.
after a while you can wash them out every other day.
the first like two months though you can't.
they do take a lot of care though.. after you wash your hair you gotta
sit there and rinse them out until all the water is gone and palm roll them and
moisturize them.
I wouldn't mind having some dread locks but it's wayy too damn hot for them here.
I say go for it!

there's this white guy at best buy, in the geek squad that has them..he actually doesn't like that bad with them. I saw tons of girls with them in mexico.

On some people it looks fly as hell.. I'd have to see a pic of you to see what it would look like, and give an opinion. No ****! Haha..

But for the most part I think they're fly. Like I would get them but I wouldn't look right.

I'm from montreal and alot of young french white people wear dreads alot some girls look cute with it while others look really ****in dirty. Most of the young people with dreads look like this.
