This one was a bad blow to Stiverne's pride. He had to be peeled of the canvas. I'd be surprised if he ever stepped into a ring again.

Jennings is with Arum now and Arum is trying to set up Parker vs Jennings for the WBOgus title on ESPN next year.

Got destroyed by the #1 or #2 fighter on Earth.

There's no reason Stiverne can't take some time off, rededicate himself, get a few wins under his belt and try to get himself in position for an eliminator. An eliminator he'd likely lose, but might be able to make a few hundred grand.

Yes destroyed by a very heavy hitter and this is the second time he fought him, he has been KO'd before but this time it was brutally. Those kind of fights can leave long lasting damage.

I dont think he will ever be in contention to win a belt again. Bear in mind he's 39 so taking time off would not be a good idea.

If he falls to #10 or #12 in the rankings, all he has to do is sit and wait and before you know it he'll be #6 or #7 again via attrition.

We agree he'll never win a belt. But he might be able to sneak into another eliminator at some point if he picks up a couple wins.

When you're knocked out that brutally, you need to take some time off. But after that, he needs to pick up a few wins and stay active. The problem is that Don King doesn't run shows. No idea how much longer he's under contract to King.

But this is the heavyweight division, guys have had success into their 40s. Stiverne is done at the highest level, but with four different leagues, he can sneak into the top 10 again of one of them an angle for an eliminator if he can get with a promoter who actually puts events on.

If Hearn is smart he would make Stiverne vs Chisora in what would be a retirement match ,sure to resemble two little puppets in a puppet show hitting eachother non stop for 12 rnds or until someone is too battered to continue .

Ironically Takam was grinding hard behind the scenes for months as was said by Joshua and Hearn themselves. Either that was their plan all along or trying to sace face with their already paid ticket goers, fact is Stiverne didnt look the part being in shape with them rolls..

Maybe look at some Tyson fights with his 1st round KOs. Tyson, his power alone, would you say his opponents were the worst performances in Heavyweight history? Or does the credit go to Tyson because of his menacing accuracy?
Stiverne still had a fight scheduled for the date, on the undercard of Ortiz-Wilder, so late preparation is no excuse
