Exactly. I do not understand why some people don't get it. Some catchweights make sense, and it they are agreed on from time to time by both camps then whatever...But this type of catchweight?? No...Just no, man.

The middleweight division has a limit of 160lbs. The guy with the titles is bigger than 160lbs. He asks the proposed opponent for a catchweight below the divisions limit because he claims not to be a natural part of said division? Why? If you can't/won't fight at the limit of 154, then you get in at middleweight. You fight over the limit of 154lbs? Then get in the next division that is capped at 160lbs. You don't need to contend for that divisions title at a weight that you desire, you should fight for/defend that divisions title within the boundaries of that division. End of story.

The idea of weight divisions is NOT so guys can chose to have title fights and defences at whatever weight they want. Canelo, being as big as he is, demanding a 155lb catchweight to defend the lineal 160lb title is stupid, and I don't see how anyone can defend it in all honesty.
