Khan is already popular to a degree although I would not say he is really loved by the masses (at this point anyway) but then he doesn't even fight in Britain anymore so it's difficult to connect with the public fighting at 5am.

Arrogance doesn't sit well with the British public as Eubank and now DeGale is finding out but I think Khan's main problem is that most still believe he is oversold and overhyped.

in the UK, sportsmen can only get away with being ****y if they back it up ...eubank got away with it just about although plenty disliked him. but in main, we prefer our sporting heroes to be humble, hardworking and down to earth.
khan believes he earned the right to superstardom by coming second in the olympics. he spent his first couple years as a rookie pro flying about in fast cars, getting tickets from the police and making video documentaries about himself. once his popularity started to wane over here he decided to go to the states because he didnt feel like the UK public wanted him. and the reason his fights had such massive gates is because people crammed in to see him get his chin destroyed like prescott did.
Quit trolling around like you speak for the rest of the British boxing fans. When did his popularity start to wane you lying muppet?

All you have to type is ''I dislike Amir Khan''. Yes he is a dumb brat who fast tracked to stardom but why are YOU so jealous? Who cares if he is so ****y and deluded? You have serious anger issues.

Lol @ khan fighting vs brook on the undercard in the UK. the author obviously doesnt know what he is talking about...

Khan and Brook grew up 50 miles from each other, they could easily stage their fight in Manchester as the main event and have 20,000 people coming like Ricky did before or like Haye did, just based on their local stardom.

        On yer bike, mate!

When Khan fights in the UK it is a packed house, he is popular with fans who arent fans of boxing as well, just because of his attachment to the Olympics

However he doesnt have a drunk army of fat men that follow him all around the world, spending their government benefits (not all obviously) to go see him fight, no boxer had that apart from Hatton. Evne Lennox, nor Naz could get that type of fanbase. Hatton appealed to those types of fans because he himself was that type of guy in between fights.."he's one of us"

However in the UK Khan draws in the big crowds

I dont think Khan will be a big ticket seller in the UK or anywhere, but he provides entertaining fights.
