Russia is still a key player in international affairs, but they aren't on a kilter with China, by a long shot.

Russia and China seem to have decent relations at this time. I haven't looked into it much, but I wouldn't doubt it if Russia is selling China plenty of oil and gas, and if plenty of Chinese manufactured goods are being sold in Russia.

Russia is not in a position right now to be a serious economic player, in part because it is so difficult to do business in Russia these days. This in turn is owing much to the political state there.

Sorry to go against your fuhrer on that one, but yeah, closer ties with China are inevitable. America benefits in ways like being able to buy cheaper stuff at Walmart. Overall, China is pretty busy reducing the US to client status. As if Xi Jinping's remarks recently, with Trump there having been summoned to the Chinese court, were not enough indication of this.

Don't see a peaceful resolution in Syria, Assad has some powerful allies right now the Military is not going to turn on him and he has Russian military in the country
