  • [REAL TALK] The Face Of Rap Changing?

Last year the top 3 breakout artist were

    Cardi B - Dominican
    Lil Pump - Cuban
    6ix9ne - Puerto Rican

and other top chart hitting artist like

    Bhad Bhabie - White
    Dj Khaled - Arab
    Bruno Mars - Puerto Rican
    G-Eazy - White
    King Lil G - Mexican
    Post Malone - White
    Lil Xans - Mexican
    Lil Dicky - White
    NF - White

and if you look at the top 5 hip hop tracks on billboard right now they are

    Drake - Black
    Bruno Mars - Puerto Rican
    Post Malon - White
    XXXtentaction - Black
    Lil Dicky - White

I remember a time when a white rapper wouldn't even be accepted, he had to be extra talented i.e. Emenim to even be respected. Now times have change and people dont really trip like that anymore, I think hip hop is in a good place right now.

It is still black dominated but if the trend/rate of change suggest anything than I think its safe to say that it will become more and more diverse as more time goes on.

69 is taking over everything as we speak.

But yeah, Internet rap has changed the game, look at maxo kream, he's easily the dopest rapper in the game, pumps out nothing but fire, barely gets any shine.

    It's the Internet rap era.

More diverse as far as faces? Sure, thats not really for a good thing, many of them suck. They're in the game really to lessen it and cheapen it.

White rappers were always embraced, it was just that Vanilla Ice was the guy who really didn't do white people any favors. He was just the first one who was so technically skilled that it was hard to embrace him. Plus many of the fans of his, were not rap fans, just Eminem fans.
