boxers are bigger today, they are pampered & make $$$ alot faster...you could say todays bi man could kill yesterdays small guy but can todays big man go 15 hard rounds? It's comparing apples to oranges.boxers fought everyone multiple times back in the day, they went 15 rounds, fought more often...etc but todays atheletes are bigger, have better training & medical facilities, better medicine & rehabbing clinics, etc.it's to hard to say who could beat who.many guys today couldn't fight in the old days & vice versa

Even the casual fan knows that sportsmen get better and better from generation to generation.
Thus if someone claims that boxers from Ali's era could beat h2h modern heavies then they have the burden of proof.
This is Cassius Clay in his THIRD year as a *cough* heavyweight. Below him is Joe Louis.
When you merely compare records, i.e. something like "How often has he won a world championship" then any era can be as good as any other era.Last edited by knn; 06-04-2010, 06:56 PM.
