Promotionally, I don't want this matchup since it's a lose-lose for Golovkin. Competitively, especially if they don't make Hopkins come down to 168 and let him fight at 175, it could be a good scrap.
Most of all though, this would be one helluva an exclamation point on Hopkin's resume - win, lose or draw.

So to put it all together.. I'm neutral.

          You drool regardless.

          On some "Brushmyhair Jr" levels.

            No!!!!

****, there's more interest generated in a Golovkin/Lara fight right now.

If Golovkin fights Hopkins it's a no win situation. If he looks good, he just picked over an old man. If he looks bad, he looks like a hype job. No credibility in this fight and it's a waste of an opportunity to fight someone more meaningful. People complain Lara is an ugly fighter, but Nard is way more ugly.

If Golovkin is seeking credibility over 160lbs, he can try to make DeGale or Ward fight him.

There is nothing intriguing about GGG fighting a 51 year old man who hasn't fought near 168 since 2008 and who by the time the fight would happen would not have been in the ring for 2 years.

                  Short answer, no.

I don't see the point of the fight. There are far better and likely more lucrative fights at 168, if that is the route they want to take. If this fight gets made, I'm done with K2. GGG needs to fire these bozos.

                    No.

The Triple Duck should have taken the Ward fight @ 168lbs..
