I read an article in the New York Times about how high skilled workers are leaving Denmark in droves to Smaller Govt, lower taxed countries...and how this might be a problem in the long run.

Those who are lazy and want to be coddled from cradle to grave will settle for that kind of system. But those who have useful skills on a global scale won't tolerate that kind abuse. I'd reckon if I were placed into one of these Scandinavian countries, i'd take advantage of all their "free" education and leave immediately without paying back a nickle. That's one way to abuse the system.

As for Bernie's plans...if he could magically swoop away the 18 trillion debt and the multi-trillions in unfunded liabilities, maybe his pipe dream could at least seem feasible from a technical standpoint [if we ignore the moral/philo/ideological implications]. As it stands...our free Medicare-for -all- senior-citizens costs more and COVERS more people, then single payer for ALL [young and old] in a small country like Norway. And this quasi-socialist program depends on current workers to keep producing to fund those programs as there is no magic pot of money stashed away in a trustfund. The Federal Payroll tax funds Medicare and Social Security...and the Federal Govt routinely borrows money out of the Social Security trust fund the same way it does from China. They can't even pay retirees what they promised them unless the Debt Ceiling keeps getting raised.

Unless Good ol' bernie can find some martians to tax on another planet with a healthy economy...there is no way his pipe dream is anything but that. Even Norway collapsed from all the Socialist-weight in the 1980's and were forced to do those pesky, annoying Free Market reforms by getting rid of State monopolies, regulations and lower taxes until the economy got going again...and only then did they ramp up the welfare state all over again, parasiting off of the little Capitalist growth that they had.

That is a problem. It has been talked about for many years. Thing is that empirical evidence so far does not lead anyone to conclude that the problem is much more than theoretical. People may go out, but it's usually just for a few years. Then they comeback and use their aquired skills back home. Most danes really love their country, culture and language.

Trump is personally unelectable, too arrogant and obnoxious.

I read he's behind Carson in the polls now.

He's behind by 6 points now. I don't really think he or Carson are electable...Sanders may very well be the next US President as Hillary is falling behind.

              Agree on Trump/Carson.

Hillary will come back I think, she's good at the debates and public speaking etc., and the fact she's female plays to her favor.

I don't think Doc Brown Sanders will win, old, balding white men don't tend to fare well anymore.

There might be an outsider with a few shots still to fire. If Trump pulls out, which he said he would if he started losing in the polls, someone like Fiorina or Rubio could come through to overhaul Carson.
