The IV thing has a sole purpose of masking. Floyd was not dehydrated to the point of needing medical assistance via IV.
What exactly was Floyd allegedly masking with the IV?

Good point. I was wondering what the name of the stuff Floyd used on his hands.

There are several reasons to use PEDs that are not "power" related. So its time to read up!

Remember that there were several issues in Floyd's IV scandal.
                1) Delay of 6 hours!
                2) IV - banned method
                3) Vital signs normal
                4) Floyd's weight was rock solid stable
                5) USADA, NSAC, WADA and studies state to use alternatives instead. We saw Floyd doing just that.
                6) Floyd admitted that he makes weight EASILY for a decade.
                7) Floyd did not have an approved TUE when he used the IV!

                ADO
"It goes without saying that any use of an IV infusion immediately prior to a drug test (whether blood or urine) would be considered highly suspicious and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary."

                WHY THE IV RULE?
•To protect clean sport and athlete health and safety. It is a fact that IVs can be used to change blood test results (such as hematocrit where EPO or blood doping is being used), mask urine test results (by dilution) or by administering prohibited substances in a way that will more quickly be cleared from the body in order to beat an anti-doping test.

                  As for Manny

                  1) Manny wasn't even allowed to use his medication!!!

                  2) You and a few other Floyd fans think that the pain killers that Manny wanted would give you super human powers which is NOT TRUE. Secondly, do you think that when Floyd admits to using meds for his hands?

                  3) Here is what a doctor had to say about Manny's request of the meds. In summary, they would be useless since its for pain not to "enhance" power as you stated!

"Toradol injection might not have helped much. The controversial injection is an anti-inflammatory given to decrease pain during competition. Pacquiao might not have felt as much shoulder pain during the bout, but Toradol would not have helped any weakness from a tear.
