Have to 100% disagree. He's not even close to a household name. Huge Spence and bud fan but neither are big draws yet.

Every sport has different rules for different players was Jordan treated the same as Blue Edwards was Kobe treated the same as Shawn Bradley ? Is it fair ? F.uck no but that’s sports they cater to the $ makers why should boxing be different

Yeah that’s great in theory but when your rule book creates a system that far too often gives Mando positions to fighters that don’t deserve it or strip Champions for reasons that don’t enhance the sport. Maybe it’s time to change or revise some of Your rules to actually
Benefit the sport and you can strictly enforce but at the same time you can attract more top fighters to be ranked in your organization

The system gives mando positions to the fighters that actually want to play by it's rules.

If you were to force ALL fighters to play by those rules then you would get higher quality mandos.

Yes your right but that will never happen l. The world isn’t fair or perfect

And the only reason the IBF is so strict is because they were caught being dirty as f.uck not to long ago so this strict play by the rules
Righteousness isn’t because done out of what ls best for the sport it’s to help erase some of the stench off them

But in no way should a fighter of Ocampos level and resume be ranked high enough for a World Title and if a fighter of Ocampos quality is the best you can rank it should tell you something. The fact the scrubs keeps getting Mando shots should tell the organization to revise some rules to attract some higher quality fighters

Can you imagine if Mayweather held the IBF and every year or so had to fight a fighter on Ocampos level l. Shi.t give me the WBC any day that allows the elite name brand talent to make big fights and not fight scrubs just so they can be sticklers and not enhance the sport

Think Anthony Johnson also ticks those boxes but AJ is a bigger draw

Well, if we are talking about how it's time to change or revise things then why not start by making all boxers fight under only one sanctioning body?

That would be a positive for the sport. Asking the IBF to become more like the WBC/WBA/WBO would be a negative.

I agree with you obviously 1 strap would be ideal , but probably never a reality it would eliminate these Wack a.ss mandos

And while all 3 major straps have positives and negatives. I think it’s be best if they had rules that were strictly followed but allowed some wiggle room for the champs so there wouldn’t be stripping Golovkin because he didn’t want to Fight Devrechenko when pursuing a Canelo rematch or Stripping Fury when he choose to fight a rematch with Klit instead of fighting his no name Mando. Both those instances the fighter and real Champion of the division was going after a bigger better fight which draws fans /eyeballs and $ to the sport and the IBF stripped them because they had to follow their wa.ck rules to the T
