I think July would have been pushing it anyways...much too soon. He'd need more time than that to get ready.

Hopefully he has invested his money wisely as American dollars go a long to Argentina currency!

Him trying to go back to 147 within this year was already a red flag!
Completely agree. You cant drop 60-70 pounds in your mid 30s...that's why fighters move UP in weight as they age.

It was never realistic to be 147 again. Never.

Haymon didnt care though and was only looking to use Maidana/his name for his prized fighters.

People forget Maidanas basically spent 10 weeks JUST trying to lose weight and he hit a brick wall there...was he even sparring yet?? Because the plan was for him to BOX not workout in the ring... XD XD XD

If Haymon or any of them DID care they wouldve targeted Maidana for MIDDLEWEIGHT return. He will never make 147 healthy and will be a zombie at 154. 160 is probably doable

Funny thing is they were targeting him to come back at 160 or 168 and then to 154 and 147 in December if all things went well!

He saw how brutal it is and that the fire was gone! Smart move before he gets hurt badly!

The Maidana who was known for upsetting the applecarts and giving Floyd one of his few toughest fights in his career is gone! Life

There's something we're not hearing about this story.
He did make easy money. Read the last paragraph.

Maidana had received several monetary advances to assist him with any comeback expenses, include an advance on the day he returned to Argentina.

He ran off with the money
That was his plan in the first place. He had no intentions of actually fighting he wanted easy money because he was broke

That boy was working out there, getting the pounds off.....Truth is Haymon lowballled Chino, Chino gave Floyd his all for 24 rounds, he was the one who showed Floyd what that ledge looks like......Every fighter these days is making 4-5 mil to fce bums and do nothing, plus across the street at DAZN, he could making 5-8 mil fighting complete cans until he's in championship shape.....

Hope Chino and Haymon works it out; seems they were shooting for a Chino Manny match potentially

Floyd was 2-3yrs away from being 40 lol he gets no credit for that. 4-5M? 5-8m? What are you smoking? Tevin Farmer not even makin 1M on DAZN only the top fighters make that type of money. Miller made 500k on DAZN in his last fight lol you’re lying. Daniel Jacobs not even makin that much guaranteed and neither is Loma. Madaina isn’t that big of a draw. He said Robert Garcia stole from him but he just did the same thing and ran off with a large advance.
He was just broke and desperate and his actions point to drug usage which I hope is not the case. Al is the one who got him those Mayweather fights. Haymon doesn’t need to work it out with him, Madaina is done not worth the investment. Let him keep the advance and cut your losses.
