In an interview on the Ruckus podcast he said he expects to be at MW for another 2-3 fights before moving up. He also said that he tried to get Macklin for this fight instead of Zerafa. Macklin begged Quillin for a fight when Peter took on Konecny, now Macklin is rebuilding after the Heiland KO. Mack declined and recently stated he's moving down to 154lbs.
Quillin also said he's been in the gym since June, but that he doesn't work with a S&C coach. I think that may have been his problem for not making weight in his last fight. He's a gym rat always working out, but he might be adding too much muscle with the wrong work outs? Anyrate, with his limited amateur background, Haymon's done him a disservice with limited activity and poor matchmaking. The whole RN/Korobov situation may have taken a toll on his confidence.
