    Polygraphs have been proven beyond a doubt to be pseudoscience & barely more accurate than a wild guess. There's a reason they aren't admissible court evidence.

    They are just used as a scare tactic (ie when you join the police force they make you take a symbolic polygraph to scare nervous/scammer applicants away & lower their academy dropout rate, but almost nobody who takes the test ever "flunks").

      They're supposed to be more accurate today, but federal agencies still train people in behavioral science, since a human can be a lot more accurate or a behavioralist might be brought in. But still, even if someone can read dishonesty on your face, they still have to prove it, like in the LA Noire game.

        Lie detector tests were considered outdated, like, 15 to 20 years ago. it's both hilarious and sad to see anyone still take them seriously in 2018.
