Opinons on best training gloves

I'm looking for some opinons on good training gloves. Ideally I would like to buy a pair of quality lace up gloves but they would have to be something I could put on myself without any help. Several vendors (ie. Ringside, Title) offer something that looks like a velcro strap that one can use to convert lace up gloves. Has anyone used these? Would you recommend them?
When looking at velcro stapped training gloves, I'm looking for 14oz gloves that I could use at least 4-5 days of the week for 12-16 months. I don't mind spending the extra dollars (ie. $70 plus)if the gloves last longer (ie. the foam inside doesn't break down). Any recommendations?
