Legit he was always the underdog. But that’s what made him special. He didn’t DUCK ANYBODY. He fought all guys in their prime, and retired most in spectacular KO/TKO fashion.

He wasn’t like Floyd who would wait until all the advantages were on his side and then impose ridiculous requests to fight them. But Floyd was smart he was building his “business” with that “0”. Manny was a straight up warrior.
Different type of fighter.
Hahaha , CW CW CW and Thurman

Mayweather had his share of risky fights. He won them because he was very good and always entered the ring in top condition. Canelo has not taken too many risks. He minimizes the risk by fighting any tough opponent in Vegas where he gets very generous scoring by judges who seem to be paid off by Golden Boy. When a boxer is taking a risky fight the betting odds will be close. Canelo had to take a risk to get GGG's titles but once he had them he refused a risky 3rd fight. Instead he was anywhere from a 5 to 1 favorite to a 14 to 1 favorite in his next 3 fights. Pacquiao takes more risks and was only a slight favorite to beat a prime 12 year younger Thurman.

you really think Marquez could have done any better, than man was in with someone who does everything he does well but better, taller quicker and faster

there is a reason when floyd was 130-135 non of the great featherweights moved up like JMM, barrera, Morales and Pac

hamed didnt either.......they stood no chance then and didnt even with a geriatric money mayweather

pretty boy floyd wouldve beat them up, money outboxes you
Morales made Floyd cry and leave the gym.

You’re just generalizing. Whom are Floyd’s Trout, Lara, GGG, Jacobs, Kovalev?

*consider the weight classes

DLH at 154 was dangerous for a smaller fighter and definitely a bigger risk than most canelo opponents maybe not GGG or kovalev

Undefeated Hatton, lineal at 140 won wba at 147 and could be a HOFer one day

Mayweathers career didnt start in 2009...

and fights will seem riskier by others if you are considered the favorite or are completely dominant like floyd was

floyd didnt need wars to beat the best or shady judges to win big fights, he dominated all but maybe 2-3 of 50 fights

Larry mad cause of facts.

To answer the question about why Pac or Canelo could not beat a past “prime” Floyd is because Pac struggled against Cotto... true Welters, and Floyd has always been bigger than Pac. Not going to entertain network “unofficial scales” because those are obvious disclaimers..lol... and again, Pac came from Fly.

Regarding Canelo. 152.

All the Floyd purists have to deal with the paradox of 2lbs with Canelo and Marquez, and they never challenge this!

If Floyd never has trouble making 147, then why couldn’t he make 144 for the agreed catch with Marquez? That doesn’t make any sense for the best known gym rat in the game at the time. 3lbs of water drain ain’t nothing in boxing if it’s close to your natural weight?

Then with Canelo... if Canelo was “so easy,” then why didn’t Floyd attempt the Middleweight Lineal with Canelo at 155 just two years later? 3lbs would make a difference in a “masterclass schooling” as Floyd diehards claim? Why didn’t Floyd want the original 154 limit for Nelo’s WBC? Truth is Floyd knew Moretti’s 116-112 was real just like Dave had Canelo beating Lara.

These are perfect examples of Floyd not taking risks. Any objection is pure denial.

Floyd always has special requests for his fights. He made Maidana wear those special gloves when he fought him.

And then he made Cotto give up Puerto Rican food and made him only get 3 hrs. of sleep nightly the whole week leading up to the fight.

Then he made Canelo a 5 pound rehydration weight so Canelo only weighed 157 on fight night.

Floyd has always done dirty shizz and demands, and then he goes in there and just jabs and runs. No fighting involved. No intention of beating his opponent. Just win by points/default.

I'm more a fan of floyd but I think PACs fight vs margarito was really risky the size difference was pretty stupid and pac chopped him to bits and rearranged his eye socket for life

plus pac if you watch his movie goes to leave the locker room after the fight he has to almost take a knee and said he spent a few days in bed feeling like he wanted to die crazy he took that fight

Floyd taking on a 125lb KickBoxer thats never foght under Boxing rules and regulations by far trumps anything Manny And Canelo has done combined !
