  • Great documentary. "The Spider's Web: Britain's Second Empire"

It's long but well worth the time to watch it.

"The degree of political capture by The City of London, by the big banks and the big law firms is so enormous that the politicians have effectively become their spokespersons."

There was a Lounge thread a few weeks back about Africa being a drain on the world.

This documentary makes the interesting point that external debt from Sub-Saharan countries is $177 billion. But losses due to illicit outflows from these countries is $944 billion.

So Africa is being looted and in actuality is a net creditor.

And the same thing is being done to countries all across the globe.

An hour and 18 minutes. But well worth it.

You might be interested in the part about Caribbean secrecy jurisdictions.

          That's long?

          I heard about Cayman's dealings.

Anything in there that supports your conspiracy views?

              Yes.

Watch it if you have time and read through the YouTube comments.

I'd love to hear your thoughts afterwards.

              I have not.

But Donald Trump is another example of what the documentary talks about. The financial industry has penetrated the state thanks to their illicit money...Trump is owned by Goldman Sachs I suspect.

Trump is a con man. He was seen as a failure in the 90s. He owed 3 billion in debt. Banks saw the potential in his brand so they weren't too quick to seize his assets because it was more valuable under his brand than if they had taken it away from him.

Busy drafting though. I get at it later this week. Might begin viewing it tomorrow.
