OP go visit Manchester for a day, plenty of food choices, visit Old Trafford/Trafford centre. Watch a game of footy if you're interested in that.

London is HUGE, so there is a load of touristy stuff to do.

Birmingham is class for food, you have places like the Bullring for shopping too.

Lake District/Mount Snowdon in Wales.
