  • The myth about Arum keeping Pac away from floyd 09-10

Let's put this lame excuse to rest. When debating why the fight didnt happen the first time, the floyd fans like to use the excuse that bob arum was keeping manny away from floyd because bob knows that when manny loses to floyd then its gonna hurt his future earning potential since manny is bob's cash cow.

Well, canelo fought floyd way early on in his career and took a major schooling from floyd but yet this didnt hurt his ppv sales at all. in fact, he just did over $1mil against ggg. so what happen to losing to floyd will lower your ppv sales? are you gonna tell me that 2009-2010 manny is not as popular as canelo?

Everyone know Pacquiao didn't want to get caught roiding. Canelo wasn't even that popular before he fought Mayweather and has took him years of building to get where he is. Stupid comparison by a stupid poster. Look at the Pacquiao PPV sales after he got KTFO by JMM. He dropped from 1 mil to half that.

This is a false equivalence fallacy.

ODH and Bob have different business models relative to building a fighter. Canelo was much younger than Manny when he fought Floyd so there was more time for his career to be rebuilt after a loss.

What you believe IMO comes down to if you are honest about the boxer Floyd is.

If you are someone that calls Floyd "fraud" and makes threads that inferior fighters could beat him, pretend he was scared of Manny, avoid talking about the people that refused to fight him etc etc, then you will never admit what roach made clear.

However, if despite how you feel about him, you give him credit for his talent and gifts as a fighter, then its easy to see why Bob would avoid a fight with him.

took him years?? he fought floyd in 2013!!. LOL

he was mexico's best at that time. undefeated record, "i was born ready"!!! then got schooled 0-12, but yet he did 900k against cotto, against chavez jr 1mil, and now against ggg 1mil again. and the rematch will likely hit 1mil again LOL.

pac's ppv sales took a dive after marquez because look at who he fought??? rios??? algeiri??? bradley??? vargas??? but then look what happen when he was matched against floyd (a credible opponent)????

oh please thats not even comparable fan bases. a huge percentage if not majority of pacs fans were because they hated floyd. just look what happened to pac after he fought mayweather now come on now trying to compare the 2 is pointless. Also canelo had to earn his way back whether u agree with the decisions or not. there is absolutely no doubt had may beat pac back then pac would not of been worth as much as he was those following years. pac had a built in fan base in america but nothing close to what canelo has
