  • Was PACQUIAO-MARGARITO well-promoted?

Considering it was not the "fight of the century" that everyone wanted, do you think the fight was well-promoted?

    • Four episodes of HBO 24/7
    • A 60 Minutes feature that coincided with fight week
    • Bringing in special correspondents like Ines Sainz
    • A Nike commercial for Manny
    • A multi-city press tour
    • Special commercials with the NFL tie-in
    • Heavy digital promotion by HBO
    • Special Spanish-language marketing
    • Cowboys Stadium (still an attraction)
    • Etc

Do you feel that Top Rank Promotions did a good job?

Need to know the end results to answer that.

I don't think it was that great as I saw only a few things for the fight, I guess I wasn't in the target market though. If they end up doing really good numbers with the limited yet focused campaign hard to fault them as they got great bang for the buck.

It sold 1.5 million ppv buys. I saw many threads on here.

Did you see the special marketing HBO did?

I will wait for a better source than Bob Arum thanks, but anything over what he did against Clottey is pretty good and it surely beat that.

I didn't see anything special though.

I think Manny Pacquiao was well promoted.

Incredibly good promotion, they convinced people worldwide that it was a legit fight and would be competitive, that takes some real doing.

1.4 to 1.5 from Koncz.. I don't think Koncz is lying.

i am usually critical of top rank ("top prank") but i think this was one of their best jobs ever.

the 60 minutes filming took place back in the spring, and arum locked down the fight date and would not budge from that date so that it synched up with the CBS airdate. that was very smart.

plus, he got lucky that it was the same show as the obama interview after the election. it became one of the highest rated 60 Minutes episodes because of the Obama interview.
