7 inches is a huge amount of reach to give up, one would think all you could hope to do was infight your opponent.

Yet Ray was able to outjab a highly skilled ATG jabber despite being at such a massive reach disadvantage.

Lewis was the better jabber but what people don't know is Lewis didn't like matching jabbers back. Look at that Z.Mavrovic fight ,its why he struggled bad and other fights .Mercer had a chin so he was able to eat one to stay in the pocket to.

Great chin and nice technique...a little like Ruiz who is able to use his jab very effectively despite usually being at a reach disadvantage. More than happy to trade jabs.
