  • Did David Haye change his "strength and conditioning" coach?

Haye was deflated last night. I could clearly tell who Bellew was, but it took me a while to recognize who he was fighting.

    hayes fitness was fine

he was injured though before he stepped into that ring, he sat in the corner after round 6 and he says to shane, i think i ruptured my Achilles, which lets me know the rumors abut his achilles were true, especially with him going to see a specialist 2 days before a fight

but i saw nothing wrong with his fitness, tony was the one who gassed first

Well we now know the Achilles isn't ruptured but he obviously wasn't completely healthy. Having said that he looked very amateurish how he threw bombs from so far out before he was hobbled. The whole weightlifting thing when took too far seems to lend itself to tendon injuries. I doubt he did much flexibility work by the look of the Yoga he was doing. And Shane said he himself is as stiff as a post despite supposedly being a fitness expert. I remember working up to some nice powerlifts that I thought would help athletically, all I did was pull my hamstrings constantly.

He's an old man and he evidently didn't prepare very well apart from cultivating a nice beach body

It was almost inevitable that he got injured, I don't think it was a stroke of bad luck at all

          He should change careers.

          He's old

Ruben Tabares was in his corner so I'm guessing no.

              Should've made myself more obvious

Adding muscle to a fighter that relied on reflexes and speed and doesn't fight inside/wrestle didn't make sense to me. Pointless, just slowing him down.

He looked like garbage from the opening bell, throwing those huge shots when he was completely out of range and missing wide. Wonder if the foot was a bother the whole time, but went from bad to fucked up in round five. Who knows.
