According to NPR, 150K were without power as of March. Did you expect the entire island to be fixed by now?

Unfortunately, no, because once I saw that contracts were handed out to Trump's people, I knew it'd be a mess. It was to be expected, really. If another hurricane hits, the island will be back to square 1.

Big banks and poor spending by Puerto Ricans government over the years led to poor conditions there and then God sent two strong hurricanes their way and He also sent hurricanes to Florida and Texas which got the majority of FEMA's inventory so not enough was available when it was time to help Puerto Rico.

Have I left out anybody who is to be blamed?

The big difference between Florida and Texas is that they're USA states, Puerto Rico is not.

Big banks, poor spending, conspiracy theories or rather poor excuses about USA "destroying" poorly managed Caribbean countries just doesn't cut it.

USA gives Puerto Rico more than 21 billion dollars each year in federal aid that's 100+ billion every 5 years.. Not our fault that the people over there don't know how to manage their money, and have to resort to conspiracy theories to account for their poor financial planning.

Yeah, and how much does it get back? Because the US has a monopoly on our economy (specifically businesses), and practically all the money here, in one way or another, ends up going back to the mainland:

            https://waragainstallpuertoricans.co...-way-around-2/

And, precisely because of corruption, even in disaster situations the money goes straight back to the U.S., anyway, as in the case of Trump's Whitefish.

If you're saying that PR has misspent money, then, yes, that is true, but misspent it why? For whom?

            Everyone knows for whom.

We're the US' colony, and the whole "PR is a loose cannon that misspends everything on its own, and we're powerless to stop them" excuse is exactly that: a coverup for reality.

Our government doesn't even run itself anymore; the U.S. effectively toppled it and instituted itself, to collect the remaining debt through a "board" that has more power than the government.

Do we have corruption? Of course, but a huge portion of that are people that get bribed or intimidated by the US into doing what it wants.

Rubbish about not being a state why it shouldn't get proper service after a disaster. State or not it's residents are Americans. Racism was why it wasn't made a state.
FEMA has the same responsibility to Puerto Rico as it has to the states. FEMA loves to moan and says it is hard to deal with because it is an island.

Big banks certainly abuse that preference that was put in place by the Federal government to help develop Puerto Rico.

Learn something before you come on here looking to cast blame on only some.

Can’t say. I do know that the military, of which two bases are located on the island, managed to coordinate, launch and successfully complete the largest in history (literally) military campaign across the English Channel on DDay to eventually win world war 2. They can get water to the peoples of Puerto Rico without issue. The issue is trump
