  • Did Vitali Klitschko "dominate" Lennox Lewis?

Some posters, in another thread, interpret the cut(s) on Vitali's face the result of a 'lucky punch', and believe that he was 'dominating Lewis', and would have stopped him if the Dr. hadn't intervened.

How did you guys score the fight?

Personally, I only had Vitali up a round. Both were exhausted at the end of round 6 - it wouldn't have gone the distance.

Vitali beats any HW from any era.

    FACTS about Vitali Klitschko:

    - All Time Great and Hall Of Famer.

    - There is no blueprint to beat him.

    - He is unbeatable.

    - He has dominated every opponent he has ever faced.

    - Has never been behind on the scorecards at the end of a fight.

    - Has a great chin, never been down.

    - 39 KOs in 42 wins, greatest heavyweight champ KO% of all time.

    - Only man ever to be world heavyweight champ in boxing and kickboxing.

    - Vitali is almost 40 now, came back after a 4 year layoff and is still dominating the HW division. He hasn't lost a single round in his comeback.

The last couple of rounds Vitali's punches had nothing on them and Lewis had him stumbling around like a drunk.

Vitali wasn't dominating Lewis, but he was winning the fight at the time of the stoppage.

Lewis didn't have much power in his punches either at that point.

Certainly after THE uppercut in round 6, Vitali looked finished. Saying that, Lewis looked done in by the end of round 2.

Fighters sometimes find extra fuel, after round 6 we don't know for sure who would have won.

Not even close. He looked like he was going down in the next round or 2.

I just watched this fight a couple days ago and I would say yes he had control of most of the fight but he got caught with a scathing right hand early in round 3 that cut him and it was stopped.

Yeh the big uppercut, Vitali has an iron chin. Even that round wasn't as one sided as some make it, Vitali was still landing some punches. Both of them were hurt and exhausted.
