You will certainly become rich from working hard.

Problem is, people like you and others who think like you, want millions of dollars from flipping burgers, and that just won't happen in any economic system.
Full-time Wal Mart cahiers should make enough money to not have to be on welfare.

That's the biggest load of horse-puckey.

there's some merit to both of the ideas that hard work makes people successful, and that poor people are dumb and lazy.

this is a two way street. neither side of this mentally plebeian talk is wholly correct.

the deck is stacked in america for wealthy people and industry to do well. it's a capitalist government regulating capitalist industries. poor people are still largely dumber and more lazy than the wealthy and the middle class. and most hugely successful people work more and harder than you idiots can imagine. i'm talking about 20 hour days when **** hits the fan. really. get back to me when you're answering emails at a dallas airport at 2:30 in the morning. you live in florida! you wouldn't want that job if it was offered to you and you really understood what it took. but you wouldn't be qualified, so you don't have to worry!

Only an idiot would work 20 hour days, even if it meant being rich.

I didn't say anything about working hard. I spoke of working smart.

              JimRaynor also explained the concept.

Capitalism is the best system we have, in terms of standard of living of the populace.

It beats the hell out of socialism and communism, that's for sure.

gonna put a limit on how many kids they can have? what city and state they live in? 15 dollars an hour goes a long way in missourah. how about the wal mart in manhattan? do they have wal mart in manhattan? can they smoke? can they drink? can they get fat and have high medical bills? do you see what i am getting at?

there's something called "living within your means," and unless you want to regulate what that is, you ahve a problem, and you're no longer a capitalist, you're a dictator!

if you do the very minimum to get by in terms of your career, like a grown woman working a cash register, [a job that will be done automatically in 10 years,] you really shouldn't be offered much more than the bare minimum to live. enough to afford rent, food, etc. hurts, but that's capitalism.

now, if you want to move some place where this system isn't in place you can head to socialist europe or canada, communist china or cuba, etc. get ready to either wait months for necessary surgeries, or pay for them. ever notice how david haye goes to germany and pays for his surgeries? get ready to have the government literally in as a partner if you ever start your own business. get ready to pay half of your earnings to the man if you make any decent money! just be ready, you asked for this!

I have a decent paying job, a house, and all the latest gadgets from an iphone, ipad, several big screen tv's, to an up to date lawn mower. I have a car, a BBQ, and more importantly the ability to purchase any amount of food to grill on the said BBQ. I am part of this dreaded 99% who doesn't own 80% of the wealth.

Difference is I don't care about other people and their money, only communists do. In USA, being part of the 99% still puts me above way over the rest of the world in terms of wealth, and my standard of life is pretty high. People see other wealthy people who in all likelihood are smarter, harder workers, and a lot more disciplined with their finances succeeding and it breeds severe jealousy.

If you are smart you can apply to go to school for an engineer, lawyer, doctor, dentist.... etc and come out earning over 100K a year. If you are poor, financial aid (FAFSA) will subsidize your education. There is literally no excuse to be a bum when you are living in the greatest time in history when it comes to equality of opportunity. Other wealthy folks are not responsible for you sucking in life, this is something I think Bernie bros need to get through their heads.

What a simplistic viewpoint. So out of touch and patently false on so many different levels. The average American lives off of credit. Over 40% of Americans make $15/hour or less. 75% of Americans live paycheck-to-paycheck. Those are facts.

What happens if you lose that decent paying job to outsourcing or downsizing or a myriad of other reasons, like so many others have? You think becoming a lawyer is a shoe-in? Same with doctor. You think you are guaranteed to make good money being a lawyer or a doctor? You are clueless.
