to all the groupies out there trying to diminish Francis victory, watch the fight in slow motion...it was the uppercut and subsequent shove that made Cain off balance and just as he was trying to regain position(wouldnt have mattered because Francis would have being hammering away) his knees buckled

Cain could have been the HW G.O.A.T...and I say this as a HUGE Fedor fan. It's a shame over-training and training incorrectly led to his premature decline and massive injuries. What a joy he was to watch during his prime. Such a damn shame.

agreed. francis buckled him with that uppercut and cain tore his knee going down/trying to regain his footing.

perhaps he could have recovered from the punch had it not been for the knee, but let's not pretend he tore it randomly. it was due to getting clipped, not to mention forcing his way inside awkwardly due to the mere threat of francis' power.

100% legit win. he should rematch stipe next for the number one contender spot.

you think Francis would have let him? trying to regain his footing would have left him vulnerable even if it just for a couple of seconds kind of like the cejudo-dillashaw fight ,i'm pretty sure Francis would have hammered away on that coconut head regardless

inactivity over the years from fighting be it injuries or other reasons have sadly costed cain in the past and now it has happened again, even if he was more active etc this was a risky fight to take from the get go against a guy like Ngannou…

can't say I didn't see this happening but I figured it might have gone to a later round? ah well.....wonder who they pit Ngannou up against next?

i don't think he was badly hurt from the uppercut, just stunned. think it comes down to spilt seconds, not seconds. probably hadn't even gone down had it not been for the knee. and he basically had a bodylock on francis at the time. also, cain is a veteran and tough as nails. while francis is wild and undisciplined..

i don't think there is much reason to think francis would have stopped him that very instance had cain not blown his knee out.

then again who ****ing knows. it is impossible to say just how badly hurt cain was. admittedly i am just guessing.
