  • GGG FANS insist GOLOVKIN is 'gettin' OLD? Cotto is 37....WEAK Excuses...new TRENDS

What WARS has GGG been through to have halted any capability?

Why you do guys blame my BOY Black-Nelo 2.0 as some catalyst for your ''too old'' narratives?

Cotto been on P4P for how many years?

GGG had no Wars but the Jacobs and Canelo fight were physically demanding. GGG wasn't punished so much in his first 36 fights but the body still slows down naturally, and with the Kell Brook-Danny Jacobs-Canelo Alvarez fight were physically demanding because of the pace of the fight and on top of that, it was his last 3 fights. So now at 36 with those last 3 fights it is obvious why GGG is getting "Old" or why the fans are starting to see the signs of an aging fighter.

GGG is 35. He has a whole year in 2018 to be ''36,'' just like Floyd was 36 when he fought Alvarez in 2013. Who was P4P #1 in 2013?

Was Floyd considered a BEAST power hitter in 2013? Why don'T you believe in Gennady when he's only 35 now? We talking P4P right?

Comparing fighters in regards to aging is so ridiculous!
Everyone ages differently, if your amateur career is extensive and then add in all the training camps you work through as a pro along with your bouts you get worn down.
The miles you run over a 20 year program destroys your feet, ankles, knees and hips along with the back.
I think fighters with over 200 amateur bouts do wear down as they age in their pro careers.
Everyone is different, Archie Moore and Sugar Ray fought at a high level for 25 years taking on much younger contenders and champions and a few pedestrians.

GGG is slowing down some and it's easy to see, if you can't you don't know what your looking at.
As for Mayweather his slow down was obvious too!

Exactly! I was just going to say that people who know boxing know that boxing age and chronological are not and never will be synonymous and people who try to use them in some comparison clearly expose themselves as being green when it comes to boxing knowledge. There are too many variables like genetics, diet and lifestyle, length of AM and PRO career, wear and tear, etc, etc. Now and then someone new on these boards will expose themselves and really embarrass themselves by with using A) triangle theories or B) parallel age comparisons. Too many theories built without any merit or foundation; built on quicksand - and triangle theories and age comparisons are among the worst. But without clowns on this board, who would we laugh at?

Keep in mind that many of the top guys you talk about often fought twice a year once they became stars. GGG only fought twice this year and last because negotiations with his opponents dragged on longer than normal because they were being divas.

And no one is insisting the GGG is getting older. Its just reality. How much getting older has affected him in his last two performances is still to be determined.

Cotto has been in some wars but he hasn't performed well consistently for a while now.

Then again, these are some of the same people that said the younger Cotto and Pacquiao was shot compared to the older Mayweather. In other words, people will say whatever they want to defend their favorite boxer.

Amateurs are overrated. Even Rigo who supersedes Loma or GGG in bouts, never really felt the grind of pro fighting, which is why he's suspectible to knock downs.

Three, three minute rounds with headgear and big gloves cmon that shıt and wearing down no fighter. In fact that's the best paddy up to hone your skill and milk it out before going pro.

Also, Amateur boxing is notorious for standing counts based on the refs call, pro boxing is obviously different.

Given those facts, Gennady is an underachiever because he milked out 160 for so long like Jacobs and when he finally stepped up in competition we see his performance at the pro level against Alvarez who's smaller than Jacobs. Lemieux was already stopped by Rubio ffs... Rosado already stopped by Angulo long ago.

Golovkin has never tested himself until 2016. Rather sad. Amir Khan the Silver Olympian has dared to be great more than Golovkin
